For underhood placement, keep the decal away from exhaust manifolds and turbo housings where temps exceed the 180°F laminate rating.
Care & longevity under real conditions
Expect five-plus years of outdoor life if the sticker lives on a vehicle or toolbox in typical garage conditions. Direct sun exposure and saltwater environments will shorten that window, but the UV laminate buys you at least two extra seasons compared to unprotected vinyl.
Washing won’t hurt the decal as long as you avoid high-pressure nozzles aimed directly at the edges. Touchless car washes and hand washing are both fine. If you need to remove the sticker later, heat it with a hair dryer or heat gun on low to soften the adhesive, then peel slowly from one corner. Any remaining residue wipes off with adhesive remover or isopropyl alcohol.
